Curriculum

The Goal

Based on students' educational backgrounds, potentials, career opportunities, and experts' opinions, we designed a 4-year integrated curriculum that aims to strengthen students' language skills and develop their specialties and interests. Through our meticulously-designed curriculum, students can build up professional skills so that they will have more desirable careers. Professional knowledge, technology competence, morality, and humane accomplishment were also considered when designing the course to prepare students for future challenges.

The Curriculum

The 4-year integrated curriculum was designed to implement training for basic language skills and communicative competence. In the first and second years, fundamental language education is emphasized, including training courses in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation. Following that, two programs, English Teaching and Tourism and MICE Industry, are provided for students' selection. We do this to equip students with the competence to work in these specialized fields. Most students in extension education and in-service programs work in industries; hence, we design a curriculum comprising teaching and tourism-related courses to meet students' demands. Besides, to make our students more competitive, we encourage them to take international language standardized tests, such as TOEFL and TOEIC. Besides, we also urge students to obtain professional computer skills, translation, and English teaching certifications.

For those students from other departments, we offer optional business English and English for Specific Purpose programs; they can also take English proficiency test preparation programs provided by the Language Center. By taking these courses, they can improve their English in their professional fields.
